Founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company Founder and Executive Chairman, Peter Rex, ResProp (part of the Rex family of companies) is looking for a Senior Property Accountant who will help support ResProp’s massive growth initiatives. With ~$1B in assets under management and ~40 properties across 3 states, ResProp is revolutionizing the real estate industry with the combination of elite talent, operational excellence and cutting edge technology solutions.
Based out of Rex HQ in Austin, TX, the Senior Property Accountant will provide general support for the accounting, asset management, and operations teammates in the areas of data entry, analysis, reconciliations, and reporting of all financial activity. They will also handle acquisition and disposition accounting for our properties and internal and external financial reporting for our funds. Our Senior Accountants coach and mentor our staff accountants and are comfortable communicating directly with regional and senior management.
Reporting directly to our Property Controller, you will influence the development and growth of our Accounting machine. You will be a key player, shaping and leading the execution of key accounting initiatives, pushing the team to do more, with less and reducing friction across all accounting-related initiatives.

Year 1 you will:
Review and analyze financial data for 10-12 properties to ensure accuracy
Assist in the monthly reconciliations of all monthly closeout activities
Prepare financial reports for management, investors, and banks
Provide support and assistance to the operations teammates on accounting related matters for properties
Complete a variety of special projects including automating and increasing efficiencies of processes, developing training materials, creating value-add reports, and providing support to other departments
The Ideal candidate has:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minimum of 5-7 years of work experience; CPA or previous public accounting experience preferred
Excellent understanding of GAAP and experience with financial reporting.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Experience training staff
Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail while working at a fast pace and under tight deadlines.
Excellent computer skills:
General understanding of advanced computerized accounting systems
Excellent working knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of Resman and Yardi is a plus
Strong attention to detail with unwavering integrity
